Photography is an art form, and technology is merely the tool. The way you frame the imagery, and the process of arranging forms and tones to make the subject pleasing and eye-catching is what good composition is all about. This is one element of photography where the learning and evolution can never end.
THE MASTERCLASS How do you break the rules if you do not know them? Dr. Sanjay Nigam of NDTV Media Institute will conduct an extended workshop on the basics of photographic composition. Drawing on the works of master photographers, the workshop will present ways to distinguish between photographs that we see but do not remember and those that leave a long and compelling impact. Going beyond photographic appreciation, the workshop will outline ways of avoiding the universal and clichéd and will assist developing your photographic skills.
ABOUT DR. SANJAY NIGAM Dr. Sanjay Nigam is the director of the NDTV Media Institute. Dr Nigam’s media experience spans 20 years. He has worked in DD, TVI, Aaj Tak and NDTV in different capacities – launching channels, developing and producing programmes and mentoring people. He began his media career as partner in Visual Section, a commercial photography firm. And once you start listening to him, you cannot help but sit captivated by his knowledge and appreciation of art.
