What is Poi?
Poi, an art that originated amongst the Maori tribe of New Zealand, primarily used to enhance self defence/weaponry skills and which has now evolved as a performing art. As an equipment Poi is a pair of equal weights suspended at the end of a cord and swung around the body to form beautiful patterns. These weights can either be LED sticks/balls or kevlar wicks that can be set on fire or just regular tennis balls.
