An evolution of Western Music starting from composers of the 17th Century like Bach, proceeding to Mozart and Beethoven to the present music forms of Jazz, Fusion, Rock and Pop. Discussing along the way the different periods in music history like Classical, Romantic and Modern and various social and artistic influences on the composers of the time. The discussion will be accompanied with live demonstrations on the Piano and Clarinet.

Why Me?
Leena Mistry is an accomplished British Piano teacher and a Clarinet performer with over 21 years of experience. She has lived in France and UK before finally moving to India last November. She was first influenced by Western Classical Music in France where she started learning the Piano. She continued her musical education in the UK where she also developed an interest in the Clarinet.
With Grade 8 in Advanced Level of Music from ABSRM for Piano and Trinity Guildhall for Clarinet,. she has performed in a High Scorers’ Concert for The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She was the only performer in the UK to have performed in the High Scorers’ Concert for two instruments in 1995
Leena Mistry has performed on Clarinet for the Education Symphonic Wind Band for Leicestershire County Council from 1997 to 2001. She then performed for acclaimed theatre productions like “Chess” and “Sweeny Todd” in the subsequent years. Having performances in the UK, France, Belgium and Austria, Leena Mistry has a rich history of musical experience.
Post moving to India in November last year, she has made a niche for herself as a Piano teacher in Mumbai. She is currently promoting Western Classical Music in India and will take you through a journey encompassing History of Western Music from the Classical of the 17th century to the Modern Jazz, Fusion, Rock and Pop along with live demonstrations on the Piano and the Clarinet.
