Discussing the relevance of fashion from the perspective of its constant struggle between modernity, modernization and tradition, panelists from academic, artistic, design, styling and business backgrounds will be discussing critical questions to give us a new perspective on something that we interact with everyday.
Questions like ’what is the purpose of trends?’ and ‘how can fashion be defined in terms of design, function and quality?’ will expose how fashion is contextualized in the hopes of understanding its constantly changing behavior.
This event will be a part of the series of workshops Gyaanexchange.com is organizing for the India Design Forum as part of IDF Week 2013 and will be curated and moderated by Akshay Tyagi.

Riaan George: Managing Editor of a brand new luxury magazine called Eat Stay Love. One of India’s premier male lifestyle bloggers and authorities on men’s style and grooming. Runs his popular blog UrbanEye.in
Meher Verma: Currently in the Graduate Anthropology program at UCLA specializing in the Indian fashion Industry
